Did you know that talk therapy is a proven way to prevent postpartum depression and improve your overall mental health? In fact, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends women with certain risk factors start therapy during pregnancy.
What is therapy?
Therapy is talking with an unbiased person who can help you process the thoughts, worries, and concerns you may be struggling with. Therapy is a safe place for you to share your feelings and learn strategies that can help you cope with or manage those thoughts and feelings.
Previa Alliance has assembled female therapists who are not only trained in different talk therapy techniques but are additionally trained in maternal mental health. Just like going to the doctor when you have physical symptoms you’re concerned about, we should do the same with mental health. If you recognize that you aren’t feeling well or having trouble with your thoughts and feelings, it’s a good idea to connect with a therapist.
We are passionate about therapy during this time in your life not only because research tells us it works, but we have experienced those dark thoughts and fears, we’ve felt the anxiety related to the changes happening during pregnancy and new motherhood, and we’ve benefited from what therapy can do and empower YOU to do.
